The character made his live-action debut in the fourth season of the HBO Max series Titans, portrayed by Nyambi Nyambi.
Fictional character biographyEdit
Freedom Beast is an activist who was arrested for opposing apartheid. However, he is rescued by Animal Man and B'wana Beast (Mike Maxwell), Mndawe's predecessor and future mentor.<ref name="dc-ency"/> Maxwell gives Mndawe his elixir and helmet and appoints him as his successor.<ref>Animal Man #13. Freedom Beast appears in the Day of Vengeance Infinite Crisis special, in which he is possessed by Rage, one of the Seven Deadly Sins.<ref name="dc-glob">Template:Citation</ref> He is also seen at the gathering of mystics at Stonehenge.<ref>Infinite Crisis #6. DC Comics.</ref>
Freedom Beast reappeared as South Africa's representative in the reformed Global Guardians.<ref>Green Lantern vol. 4 #11 and 14–17. DC Comics.</ref> He and his teammates are brainwashed by the Faceless Hunter and used as weapons against Hal Jordan. Powers and abilitiesEdit
Freedom Beast drinks an elixir that gives him superhuman strength, speed, hunting and tracking abilities. He also wears an ancient helmet that allows him to communicate with animals and merge them to form Chimeras.
