G'nort (pronunciation: "nort"<ref>Who's Who in the DC Universe (loose-leaf) #16 inside front cover equivalent.</ref>) Esplanade G'neesmacher is a character appearing in DC Comics. He is a member of the Green Lantern Corps and later a Darkstar and a member of the Justice League Antarctica. He resembles an anthropomorphic dog and is generally incompetent and used as comic relief.
G'nort has made limited appearances in media outside comics, with Alexander Polinsky voicing him in Batman: The Brave and the Bold.
Publication historyEdit
G'nort first appeared in Justice League International #10 (February 1988), and was created by Keith Giffen and J. M. DeMatteis.<ref name=Guide>Template:Cite book</ref> His appearance and personality were modeled after Ed Norton from The Honeymooners.<ref name="dc-ency">Template:Cite book</ref>
Fictional character biographyEdit
G'nort is from the planet G'newt, and joins the Green Lantern Corps at the suggestion of his uncle G'newman. Despite his incompetence, he is consistently depicted as brave, loyal, and honorable.<ref name="jli10">Template:Cite comic</ref> Later in his career, G'nort joins the Justice League International.<ref>Template:Multiref2</ref>
It is later revealed that G'nort and G'newman were given their rings by the Weaponers of Qward, who sought to discredit the Green Lantern Corps.<ref>Template:Multiref2</ref>
