Horonaim (Template:Langx Ḥōrōnayīm)<ref>Template:Strong-number</ref> is a city in Moab, mentioned in two Hebrew Bible oracles against the nation of Moab: in the Book of Jeremiah (Template:Bibleverse-nb), and in the Book of Isaiah, (Template:Bibleverse-nb). In 2 Samuel (Template:Bibleverse-nb), an addition from the Septuagint text ({{#invoke:Lang|lang}}) is sometimes translated as Horonaim (in e.g. NIV, ISV), although it possibly derives from as little as a preposition.<ref name="4QSam-a brill">Template:Cite book</ref>

There is some reason to identify Horonaim with the city Horonan (Moabite: 𐤇𐤅𐤓𐤍𐤍 *Ḥawrānān),<ref name= Garr2004>Template:Cite book</ref> named in the Mesha Stele (lines 31 and 32).<ref name= cos>Template:Cite book</ref> The name may derive from the god Horon,<ref>Template:Cite encyclopedia</ref> or from Western Semitic words for cave, cavern, hollow or valley.<ref>Template:Cite EBD; and Strong's Hebrew, both in [1].</ref>
