Kexbrough is a village in the Barnsley district, in the county of South Yorkshire, England, on the border with West Yorkshire.<ref>Template:Cite book</ref> The village falls within the Darton West ward of Barnsley MBC. It is located west of the M1 motorway, just south of Junction 38 at an elevation of around Template:Convert above sea level. HistoricallyTemplate:When the village was known as Kexborough, and includes the hamlets of Haigh and Swithin.<ref name=":History of Kexborough, in Barnsley and West Riding">{{#invoke:citation/CS1|citation |CitationClass=web }}</ref> Until 1974 it was in the West Riding of Yorkshire.

Kexbrough is mentioned in the Domesday Book as belonging to Ilbert of Lacey, and having two villagers, a meadow, ploughlands and six furlongs of woodland.<ref>{{#invoke:citation/CS1|citation |CitationClass=web }}</ref> Historically in the parish of Darton and the wapentake of Staincross, the village is recorded in the Domesday Book as Chizeburg, being Kesseburgh in the 14th century, and Kexbrough by the 1580s. The village is just west of the M1 motorway, about Template:Convert above sea level, being some Template:Convert north-west of Barnsley, and Template:Convert south of Wakefield.<ref name="OS">{{#invoke:citation/CS1|citation |CitationClass=web }}</ref><ref>{{#invoke:citation/CS1|citation |CitationClass=web }}</ref>
Kexbrough was formerly a township in the parish of Darton,<ref name=":History of Kexborough, in Barnsley and West Riding"/> in 1866 Kexbrough became a separate civil parish, on 1 April 1938 the parish was abolished and merged with Darton.<ref>{{#invoke:citation/CS1|citation |CitationClass=web }}</ref> In 1931 the parish had a population of 1673.<ref>{{#invoke:citation/CS1|citation |CitationClass=web }}</ref>

Kexbrough is served by local and Express buses to Barnsley Interchange via Baurgh Green or Mapplewell as well as longer distance services to Wakefield and Leeds. Bus companies that operate in Kexbrough are Stagecoach and Globe Coaches.
