The only species, '''''Acrorchis roseola''''', is an [[epiphyte|epiphytic]] orchid that occurs in [[Costa Rica]] and [[Panama]]<ref>[http://apps.kew.org/wcsp/namedetail.do?name_id=2649 Kew World Checklist of Selected Plant Families]</ref> at heights between 900 and 2,500 m. It is clump-forming, magenta orchid, reaching a height of 15 cm. The [[sepal]]s and [[petal]]s of its small [[flower]]s have distinct lengths and shapes.
