A [[Back row (rugby union)|back row forward]], Charvis was equally adept as a [[Flanker (rugby union)|flanker]] or at [[Number eight (rugby union)|number 8]]. Born in [[Sutton Coldfield]], England, he captained the [[Wales national rugby union team|Wales national team]] from 2002 to 2004, and also played for the [[British & Irish Lions]] on their [[2001 British & Irish Lions tour to Australia|tour of Australia in 2001]].
