They form the border between [[France]] ([[Hautes-Alpes]] and [[Savoie]]) and [[Italy]] ([[Piedmont]]). The [[Fréjus Road Tunnel]] and [[Fréjus Rail Tunnel]] between [[Modane]] and [[Susa, Italy|Susa]] are important transportation arteries between France ([[Lyon]], [[Grenoble]]) and Italy ([[Turin]]).
