He was also the nephew of [[Daniel of St. Thomas Jenifer]]. He graduated from [[Charlotte Hall Military Academy]]. He represented [[Maryland]]'s [[United States House of Representatives, Maryland District 1|1st Congressional district]] in the [[United States House of Representatives|U.S. Congress]] in 1831β1833 and the [[United States House of Representatives, Maryland District 7|7th district]] from 1835 to 1841.
