The '''European Republicans Movement''' ({{langx|it|Movimento Repubblicani Europei}}, MRE) is a minor [[social liberalism|social-liberal]]<ref>{{cite web|url=http://www.parties-and-elections.de/italy.html|title=Italy|website=Parties and Elections in Europe|first=Wolfram|last=Nordsieck|year=2006|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20071010000046/http://www.parties-and-elections.de/italy.html|archive-date=10 October 2007|access-date=20 April 2019|url-status=unfit}}</ref> [[list of political parties in Italy|political party in Italy]].

From 2007 to 2010 the party was a founding member and associate of the [[Democratic Party (Italy)|Democratic Party]], the leading [[centre-left]] party in Italy. In 2011 the MRE was merged into the [[Italian Republican Party]], the party from which it had seceded in 2001. The MRE was also a member of the pan-European [[Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe Party|European Liberal Democrat and Reform Party]] (ELDR),<ref>http://members.eldr.eu/index.php?id%3D4%26no_cache%3D1%26tx_eldr_pi1%5BcountryId%5D%3D9 {{Dead link|date=September 2022}}</ref> and its long-standing leader was [[Luciana Sbarbati]].
