It is located to the south east of the main village of Waddesdon. It was bought in the 1870s by a branch of the [[Rothschild family]], and belongs to them to this day. Eythrope is [[Listed building#England and Wales|Grade II listed]] on the [[National Heritage List for England]], and its gardens are also grade II listed on the [[Register of Historic Parks and Gardens of special historic interest in England|Register of Historic Parks and Gardens]].<ref name=NHLEHouse>{{NHLE|num=1117798|desc=Eythrope Pavilion|access-date=2 December 2016|mode=cs2}}</ref><ref name=NHLEGarden>{{NHLE|num=1001397|desc=Eythrope (garden)|access-date=2 December 2016|mode=cs2}}</ref>
