There are spelling variations of Erzulie, the other being Ezili. They are English interpretations of a Creole word, but do not differ in meaning.<ref>{{Cite journal |last=Dayan |first=Joan |date=1994 |title=Erzulie: A women's history of Haiti |journal=Research in African Literatures |volume=25 |issue=2 }}</ref>
