{{Short description|Contest to find a Google Search query that returns a single result}} {{Use dmy dates|date=August 2020}} A '''Googlewhack''' was a contest to find a [[Google|Google Search]] query that returns a single result. A Googlewhack must consist of two words found in a dictionary and was only considered legitimate if both of the search terms appear in the result. Published googlewhacks were short-lived since when published to a website, the new number of hits would become at least two: one to the original hit found, and one to the publishing site, unless a screenshot was provided.<ref>{{cite web|url=http://googlewhack.com/rules.htm|title=Googlewhack official rules|publisher=Googlewhack.com|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20170818044000/http://www.googlewhack.com/rules.htm|archive-date=18 August 2017|url-status=dead|access-date=2014-03-28}}</ref> Googlewhacks generally no longer exist due to changes in Google search indexing.
