It is one of the top universities in China and now affiliated with the [[Ministry of Industry and Information Technology]]. The university is part of [[Project 211]], [[Project 985]], and the [[Double First-Class Construction]]. The university was founded in 1920 as Harbin Sino-Russia Industrial School.
