Racing Genk plays in the [[Belgian Pro League]] and have won four championship titles; in [[1998–99 Belgian First Division|1998–99]], in [[2001–02 Belgian First Division|2001–02]], in [[2010–11 Belgian First Division|2010–11]] and in [[2018–19 Belgian First Division A|2018–19]]. They have also won five [[Belgian Cup]]s, most recently in [[2020–21 Belgian Cup|2020–21]]. They qualified for the [[UEFA Champions League]] group stage in the [[2002–03 UEFA Champions League|2002–03]], [[2011–12 UEFA Champions League|2011–12]] and [[2019–20 UEFA Champions League|2019–20]].

The club formed in [[1988 in football (soccer)|1988]] by the merger of [[K. Waterschei S.V. Thor Genk|Waterschei Thor]] with '''KFC Winterslag''', from which it took over the [[matricule|matricule number]].  It has been one of the most successful clubs in Belgium since the late 1990s and so they regularly qualify for European competitions. The club has been playing in the first division since the [[1996–97 Belgian First Division|1996–97 season]]. They play their home matches in the [[Cegeka Arena]]. Their main outfit is blue and white.
