Situated on the west bank of the Upper [[Nile]] in what is now [[South Sudan]] and northwest [[Uganda]], it was neither an [[Enclave and exclave|enclave]] nor exclave in the strict geographic sense. Its capital was the town of [[Lado, South Sudan|Lado]].
