Both the Memorial and Hermann health care systems started in the early 1900s. The administration is housed in the new Memorial Hermann Tower, along with the existing System Services Tower (formerly called the North Tower), of the [[Memorial Hermann Memorial City Medical Center]]. [[Memorial Hermann–Texas Medical Center]] (formerly known as Hermann Hospital before the 1997 merger with Memorial Health Care System) was opened in 1925.
