The alliance's stated objective is to be the first choice airline alliance for the world's frequent international travellers. Its headquarters have been located in [[Fort Worth, Texas]], since December 2022.

The alliance's current membership consists of [[Alaska Airlines]], [[American Airlines]], [[British Airways]], [[Cathay Pacific]], [[Fiji Airways]], [[Finnair]], [[Iberia (airline)|Iberia]], [[Japan Airlines]], [[Malaysia Airlines]], [[Qantas]], [[Qatar Airways]], [[Royal Air Maroc]], [[Royal Jordanian]] and [[SriLankan Airlines]].
