This is one of the basic [[aircraft dynamic modes|flight dynamics modes]] of an [[fixed-wing aircraft|aircraft]] (others include [[short period]], [[Aircraft_dynamic_modes#Roll_subsidence_mode|roll subsidence]], [[dutch roll]], and [[spiral divergence]]).
