Marking Hedges' [[List of directorial debuts|directorial debut]], the film stars [[Katie Holmes]], [[Derek Luke]], [[Sean Hayes]], [[Alison Pill]], [[Oliver Platt]] and [[Patricia Clarkson]]. The film follows April (Holmes), as she attempts to prepare a [[Thanksgiving dinner]] for her estranged family. The film premiered at the 2003 [[Sundance Film Festival]], and received mostly positive reviews. It grossed over {{US$|3.2 million}} worldwide on a $300,000 budget. Patricia Clarkson received numerous nominations for Best Supporting Actress for her role, including at the [[Academy Awards]] and the [[Golden Globe Awards]], and also won multiple Best Supporting Actress awards given by associations of film critics.
