The '''''Poetic Edda''''' is the modern name for an untitled collection of [[Old Norse]] anonymous [[narrative poetry|narrative poems]] in [[alliterative verse]].  It is distinct from the closely related ''[[Prose Edda]]'', although both works are seminal to the study of [[Old Norse poetry]].
