It neighbours the resort of [[Portstewart]] in [[County Londonderry]]. The main part of the old town, including the [[Portrush railway station|railway station]] as well as most hotels, restaurants and bars, is built on a {{convert|1|mi}}βlong [[peninsula]], [[Ramore Head]].
