In [[Roman mythology]], '''Postverta''' or '''Postvorta''' was the goddess of the past and one of the two [[Camenae|Carmentes]] (along with her sister [[Antevorta]], or  '''Prorsa''', a [[contraction (grammar)|contracted]] form of ''Proversa'').<ref>[[Ovid]], ''[[Fasti (poem)|Fasti]]'', I. 633</ref><ref>[[Aulus Gellius]], ''Attic Nights'', XVI. 16</ref><ref>[[Macrobius]], ''Saturnalia'', I. 7</ref><ref>[[Maurus Servius Honoratus|Servius]]' commentary to [[Aeneid]], VIII. 339</ref> They were companions of the goddess [[Carmenta]], and probably embodied her aspects as the goddess of the past (Postvorta) and the future (Antevorta, or Prorsa).

During childbirth, prayers were offered to summon the Carmentes to preside over the labor.<ref>[[Varro]], cited by [[Aulus Gellius]] in his ''Attic Nights'', XVI. 16</ref> Porrima was said to be present at the birth when the baby was born head-first; Postverta, when the [[breech birth|feet of the baby came first]].
