Truman]], [[United Kingdom]] [[Prime Minister of the United Kingdom|Prime Minister]] [[Winston Churchill]], and [[List of presidents of the Republic of China|President]] of [[Republic of China (1912β1949)|China]] [[Chiang Kai-shek]] issued the document, which outlined the terms of [[surrender (military)|surrender]] for the [[Empire of Japan]], as agreed upon at the [[Potsdam Conference]].
