To ensure their loyalty, the [[Three Laws of Robotics]] are programmed into these robots, with the intent of preventing them from ever becoming a danger to humanity. Later, Asimov would merge the ''Robot'' series with his [[Foundation (book series)|''Foundation'' series]].
