He was selected in the first round, ninth overall, by the [[St. Louis Blues]] in the [[1988 NHL entry draft]]. Brind'Amour has also played for the [[Philadelphia Flyers]] and the Hurricanes, the latter with whom he [[Captain (ice hockey)|captained]] to the [[Stanley Cup]] in [[2006 Stanley Cup Finals|2006]], marking the first championship in franchise history.
