Elected for [[Reform UK]], he now sits as an [[Independent politician|independent]] following the suspension of the party [[Whip (politics)#United Kingdom|whip]] in March 2025. He was a [[member of the European Parliament]] (MEP) for the [[West Midlands (European Parliament constituency)|West Midlands]] from 2019 to 2020. Prior to entering politics, Lowe worked in business and was the chairman of [[Southampton F.C.|Southampton Football Club]]. He led the club from 1996 to 2006. Returning in 2008, his second tenure ended in 2009 when it entered administration. At the [[2019 European Parliament election in the United Kingdom|2019 European Parliament election]] Lowe was elected as an MEP for the West Midlands, representing the Brexit Party, which later became Reform UK. He held this role until the [[Brexit|UK's withdrawal from the European Union]] (EU) in 2020. Lowe entered the [[House of Commons of the United Kingdom|House of Commons]] at the [[2024 United Kingdom general election|2024 general election]] as MP for Great Yarmouth and was appointed Reform UK's Business and Agriculture Spokesman. In March 2025 he had the whip suspended due to legal accusations. In May 2025 he hinted towards a new political party and told people to turn their backs on Reform UK.
