He is one of the highest lineage holders of the [[Karma Kagyu]] school of [[Tibetan Buddhism]] and is regarded as the mind manifestation of [[Amitābha]]. He is traditionally associated with [[Yangpachen Monastery]] near [[Lhasa]].
