It can also be used to write [[Standard Tibetan|Tibetan]] and [[Sanskrit]]. A special character of the script, the [[Soyombo symbol]], became a national symbol of [[Mongolia]] and has appeared on the [[Flag of Mongolia|national flag]] and [[Emblem of Mongolia|emblem]] of Mongolia since 1911, as well as in money and postage stamps.
