The '''Sublime Porte''', also known as the '''Ottoman Porte''' or '''High Porte''' ({{langx|ota|باب عالی|Bâb-ı Âlî}} or ''Babıali''; {{IPA|tr|baːbɯˈaːliː}}), was a [[synecdoche]] or [[metaphor]] used to refer collectively to the [[central government]] of the [[Ottoman Empire]] in [[Istanbul]].
