As of December 2023, Via Rail operates 406 trains per week across eight [[Provinces and territories of Canada|Canadian provinces]] and {{convert|12500|km}} of track, 97 percent of which is owned and maintained by other railway companies, mostly by [[Canadian National Railway]] (CN).
