== History ==

From the introduction of the domain in 1990 to 2002, the domain was administered by the Joint University Computer Centre, which was incorporated in 1970 as a cooperative consortium of the information technology service centers of the eight government-funded tertiary institutions in Hong Kong.<ref>{{cite web|url=https://www.jucc.edu.hk/ |title=Joint University Computer Centre |publisher=Jucc.edu.hk |accessdate=2012-01-15}}</ref><ref>{{Cite web |title=About JUCC – Joint Universities Computer Centre |url=https://www.jucc.edu.hk/about-jucc/ |access-date=2025-03-13 |language=en-US}}</ref> During this period, the [[Chinese University of Hong Kong]] was responsible for technical support, the [[University of Hong Kong]] coordinated fees, and the [[Hong Kong Polytechnic University]] was responsible for maintaining the accounts.
