== Background == Steele was born in [[Nashville, Tennessee]] on January 19, 1958. He was introduced to [[science fiction fandom]] attending meetings of [[Nashville, Tennessee|Nashville]]'s [[Science fiction fandom#Science fiction societies|science fiction club]].
