==Etymology== According to the Belize Institute of Archaeology, the site's name means "Rockstone Water," and is a [[Yucatec Maya language|Yucatec Mayan]] approximation of the name of the nearby village of [[Rockstone Pond]].<ref name=NICH>{{cite web |url=http://nichbelize.org/ia-maya-sites/archaeology-of-altun-ha.html |title=Archaeology of Altun Ha |author=Belize.
