==Assignment==
AS numbers are assigned in blocks by [[Internet Assigned Numbers Authority]] (IANA) to [[Regional Internet registry|regional Internet registries]] (RIRs). The appropriate RIR then assigns ASNs to entities within its designated area from the block assigned by IANA.
