==Etymology== The name Clonmel is derived from the [[anglicisation]] of the Irish name ''Cluain Meala'' meaning "[[honey]] meadow" or "honey valley". While it is not clearly known when it got this name, some sources suggest that it is associated with the fertility of the soil and the "richness of the country" in which it is located.<ref>{{Cite web |last=Burke |first=William P. |date=4 March 1907 |title=History of Clonmel |url=http://archive.org/details/historyclonmel00burkgoog |publisher=Waterford, Printed by N.
