== Spring rate == [[file:Ressorts de compression coniques.jpg|thumb|A selection of conical coil springs]] Spring rate is the measurement of how much load (in pounds) a coil spring can hold until it compresses {{convert|1|in|cm|sigfig=3}}. The spring rate is normally specified by the manufacture. If a spring has a rate of 100 then the spring would compress 1 inch with {{convert|100|lb}} of load.<ref>{{cite web|title=Street Performance & Racing Spring Rate Tech|url=https://www.qa1.net/technical-support/street-performance-racing-spring-rate-tech|website=QA1|access-date=19 April 2018}}</ref>
