==Nomenclature== [[Henry Piddington]] published 40 papers dealing with [[tropical storms]] from Calcutta between 1836 and 1855 in ''[[The Journal of the Asiatic Society]]''. He also coined the term ''cyclone'', meaning the coil of a snake.
