Davis High School]] Clark was born on November 30, 1929, in [[Bronxville, New York]], and raised in neighboring [[Mount Vernon, New York|Mount Vernon]],<ref name="nyt obit">{{cite news |last=Weber |first=Bruce |date=April 18, 2012 |title=TV Emperor of Rock 'n' Roll and New Year's Eve Dies at 82 |url=https://www.nytimes.com/2012/04/19/arts/television/dick-clark-tv-host-and-icon-of-new-years-eve-is-dead-at-82.html?pagewanted=all |access-date=April 18, 2012 |work=[[The New York Times]]}}</ref> the second child of Richard Augustus Clark and Julia Fuller Clark, nΓ©e Barnard.
