==Early life==
Elizabeth Haddon was born in [[Southwark]], [[London, England]], May 25, 1680.<ref name=":1">{{cite book |last1=Ingham |first1=John N. |title=Biographical Dictionary of American Business Leaders, Volume 1 |date=1983 |publisher=Greenwood Press |isbn=9780313239076 |page=351 |url=https://books.google.com/books?id=DFwZ0AEACAAJ |access-date=13 September 2023}}</ref> She was the third child of John Haddon, a blacksmith, and Elizabeth, née Clarke.
