== Nieuwe Gender ==
In 2005, proposals were accepted to have the Gender flow through the Eindhoven city centre once again: the Nieuwe Gender ('New Gender') project.<ref name="gemeente" /><ref>{{cite web|title=De Nieuwe Gender |url=http://www.cognito.nl/stadsdeelkantoren/centrum/item.asp?newsid=2238 |publisher=Cognito Concepts et al. |language=Dutch |year=2005 |accessdate=24 April 2009 |url-status=dead |archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20070828184931/http://www.cognito.nl/stadsdeelkantoren/centrum/item.asp?newsid=2238 |archivedate=August 28, 2007 }}</ref> The stream is to flow partially underground, partially above-ground from the Engelsbergen pond through the city centre and discharge into the Dommel near the [[Eindhoven railway station|railway station]].
