==Early life, education, and business career==
Davis was born in [[Montreal|Montreal, Quebec]], Canada to American parents. After graduating from high school, he enlisted in the United States Army and later received an appointment to the [[United States Military Academy at West Point]]. At West Point, Davis studied national security and international affairs, as well as the Arabic language.
