==Early life, education, and business career== Davis was born in [[Montreal|Montreal, Quebec]], Canada to American parents. After graduating from high school, he enlisted in the United States Army and later received an appointment to the [[United States Military Academy at West Point]]. At West Point, Davis studied national security and international affairs, as well as the Arabic language. In the U.S. Army he served as an aviation officer, eventually becoming an Assault Helicopter Flight Commander in the [[82nd Airborne Division]].<ref name="Veterans History">{{cite web|url=http://memory.loc.gov/diglib/vhp/story/loc.natlib.afc2001001.69135/|title=Geoffrey Clark Davis|publisher=Veterans History Project, Library of Congress|access-date=May 27, 2017}}</ref> Davis also ran U.S. Army aviation operations for peace enforcement between [[Israel]] and [[Egypt]].
