Rickly was born in Providence, Rhode Island and raised in [[Dumont, New Jersey]], into a [[Catholic]] family, and attended [[Dumont High School]], where he was a member of the [[school band|band]] and played the [[tenor sax]].<ref>Jordan, Chris.
