==Biography== John Gerald Mastrangelo was born in [[Fort William, Ontario]] on 27 September 1931. He was elected to the [[House of Commons of Canada]] as a [[Liberal Party of Canada|Liberal]] for the constituency of [[Thunder Bay—Nipigon]] in the [[1980 Canadian federal election|1980 federal election]] and served as the [[parliamentary secretary]] to the Minister of State (Mines) and the Minister of Communications in the final government of [[Pierre Trudeau]]. He was defeated in the [[1984 Canadian federal election|1984 federal election]] by [[Ernie Epp]].
