== Early life == Horrocks was born in [[Rawtenstall]], [[Lancashire]], the daughter of Barbara ([[married and maiden names|nΓ©e]] Ashworth), a hospital worker, and John Horrocks, a sales representative.{{Citation needed |date=August 2021}}<ref>{{Cite magazine |last=Ascher-Walsh |first=Rebecca |date=1994-12-18 |title=Impressive |pages=16 |magazine=[[Entertainment Weekly]]}}</ref> She was the youngest of three children.
