Alba's early life was marked by a multitude of physical maladies. During childhood, she suffered from [[pneumonia]] four to five times a year and had [[Atelectasis|partially collapsed lungs]] twice as well as a ruptured [[Vermiform appendix|appendix]] and [[tonsil]]lar cyst.
