Flaherty ran for in the [[1990 Ontario general election|provincial election of 1990]], finishing third against [[Ontario New Democratic Party|New Democrat]] [[Drummond White]] and [[Ontario Liberal Party|Liberal]] [[Allan Furlong]] in the riding of [[Durham Centre (provincial electoral district)|Durham Centre]].
