==Biography== Crosby was born in [[Los Angeles]], [[California]], and grew up in [[Humboldt County, California|Humboldt]] and [[Sonoma County, California|Sonoma]] counties in Northern California,<ref name="Larkin90">{{cite book|title=[[Encyclopedia of Popular Music|The Virgin Encyclopedia of Nineties Music]]|editor=Colin Larkin|editor-link=Colin Larkin (writer)|publisher=[[Virgin Books]]|date=2000|edition=First|isbn=0-7535-0427-8|page=413}}</ref> raised by a single mother from an upper-class family who owned a record store in [[Fortuna, California]]. His great-grandfather was [[John C. Crosby]], a congressman from [[Massachusetts]], and his ancestry on his mother's side is English and Native American.
