The term "Last Supper" does not appear in the [[New Testament]],{{sfn | Armentrout | Slocum | 1999 | p=292}}{{sfn | Fitzmyer | 1981 | p=1378}} but traditionally many Christians refer to such an event.{{sfn | Fitzmyer | 1981 | p=1378}} The term "Lord's Supper" refers both to the biblical event and the act of "Holy Communion" and [[Eucharist]]ic ("thanksgiving") celebration within their [[liturgy]]. The [[Eastern Orthodox]] use the term "Mystical Supper" which refers both to the biblical event and the act of Eucharistic celebration within liturgy.{{sfn | McGuckin | 2010 | pp=293, 297}} The [[Russian Orthodox]] also use the term "Secret Supper" ({{langx|cu|"Тайная вечеря"}}, ''Taynaya vecherya'').
