Bemis attended high school at [[Windward School]], a private school in Los Angeles.<ref name="thetabworld" /> He had also attended [[Camp Ramah]] in [[Ojai, California]], where he met future band-mate [[Coby Linder]].<ref name="thetabworld" /> In 2000, Bemis, Linder, and friends from Windward and [[Beverly Hills High School]] formed [[Say Anything (band)|Say Anything]]. The band was described as a high school band, but they released [[Baseball: An Album By Sayanything|a full-length LP]] and [[Junior Varsity (album)|an EP]]. In 2002, Bemis attended [[Sarah Lawrence College]].
