== Early years ==
Fahim was born in [[Omarz]], a small village in the [[Panjshir Province]] of Afghanistan and is of [[Tajik people|Tajik]] ethnicity. He fled Afghanistan after the Communist coup of 1978, he became a refugee in [[Peshawar]].
